Do I Need Detox First?
Some people need medically supervised detox before they can safely begin outpatient opioid treatment. Withdrawal can cause muscle aches, sweating, restlessness, anxiety, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, insomnia, and intense cravings. Symptoms can be severe and difficult to manage without medical support.
Renova Recovery does not provide on-site detox, inpatient care, or residential treatment. During admissions, our team helps determine whether outpatient care is appropriate right now.
A higher level of care may be needed first if someone is experiencing significant withdrawal, cannot stop using without medical support, has recently overdosed, or is combining opioids with other high-risk substances. When that's the case, our admissions team helps identify an appropriate detox or residential provider, and Renova can serve as the next step once someone is medically stable.

Medication and Opioid Treatment
Medications such as buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone are recognized by SAMHSA and the CDC as evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder, and for many people they meaningfully lower the risk of relapse and overdose. Renova Recovery does not operate a methadone clinic and does not prescribe methadone or Suboxone directly. Therapy, clinical structure, and relapse-prevention planning remain central to treatment whether or not medication is part of the picture.
