Rehab admissions at Renova Recovery, a Joint Commission-accredited outpatient addiction treatment center in New Jersey, work like this. You call and talk with our admissions team for about ten to fifteen minutes. We check your insurance, usually the same day. A clinician completes a free addiction assessment and recommends a level of care: partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), outpatient (OP) or Vivitrol-based medication-assisted treatment. There is no waitlist, and most people start the same or next day. Nothing obligates you to enroll at any step. We serve adults 18 and older, and we do not provide medical detox or residential care.

Rehab Admission Process: What We Ask on the First Call

Nothing designed to trip you up. The rehab admission process starts with roughly these questions:

Same-Day Rehab: How Fast Can You Start?

Same-day rehab is common here. Insurance checks usually come back the same day you call, or first thing the next morning, and most people start the same or next day. If you call in the morning, there is a good chance you are in a group that afternoon or evening.

We say that plainly because waiting is often where people lose the decision. If anything in your situation means it will take longer, such as an insurance authorization or a need for detox first, we tell you on the first call.

What Happens in Your Free Addiction Assessment

Your addiction assessment is a conversation with a member of our clinical team, not a test. It looks at your substance use, your mental health, your history with treatment, and your day-to-day life, then recommends a level of care using the ASAM criteria that treatment programs nationwide use.

How to Prepare for Rehab

Preparing for outpatient rehab is simpler than most people expect. You sleep at home, so there is nothing to pack. This is what to bring to rehab on your first day, and what to sort out beforehand.

Insurance and Private Pay

Renova Recovery is out of network with commercial insurance and works with most PPO and POS plans that include out-of-network behavioral health benefits. We check your benefits before you start. You can verify your insurance online or on the phone. If you do not have insurance, ask about private pay. We do not accept NJ Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare or Medicare.

Many of our calls come from a parent, a partner or a sibling. We can explain the levels of care and help you think through how to raise it with them. We cannot share information about someone already in treatment without their authorization, or admit an adult who has not agreed to come. Do I have to stop using before I call?

No. Call as you are. What matters is that we understand the real picture so you end up in the right level of care.

What if I need detox first?

We do not provide medical detox. If detox is needed, we can help place you with our affiliated detox provider and plan your outpatient treatment for afterward.

Can I keep working while in rehab?

Often, yes. Our intensive outpatient and outpatient programs run morning, afternoon and evening groups for that reason. Partial hospitalization is a full-day program, and most clients adjust their schedule during it.

Will anyone find out I called?

We keep your inquiry confidential and do not contact your employer because you reached out. Substance use treatment records have federal privacy protections beyond standard medical privacy rules.

What if I do not have insurance?

Call and ask about private pay. We will be direct about cost. We do not accept NJ Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare or Medicare, and we will point you to programs that do.

Can I visit before deciding?

Yes. Call and we will set up a time to come in, look around and meet the team. You are not signing anything by walking through the door.

What if I am not sure I need treatment?

That is a common reason to call. The assessment exists to answer that question, and if you do not need what we offer, we will tell you.

Can I call about someone else?
